At the April 19-20 district conference in Texarkana, our club was awarded the Peace Award, Carroll Greenwaldt reported April 30.

The club was recognized for the project we’ve been working on for the past four years in Guatemala, he said, referring to the program that has supplied millions of doses of Albendazole to battle tapeworms in young people.

“You did that, and you have been honored with the international peace award for that,” Greenwaldt said.

Now, he said, more doses are on the way to Guatemala as the program we started continues under the funding of other non-profits.
